Analyst: Saleh’s visit to push strategic dialogue with Russia

MOSCOW, April 3 (Saba)- The visit of President Ali Abdullah Saleh to Russia is ahead step toward strengthening strategic dialogue between Sana’a and Moscow, a Russian political analyst said in a report published Saturday. The Russian analyst Boris Shborian told Life Magazine, issued by Russian Foreign Ministry, that the good relations between the two nations in different areas would make those relations more active in future. For his part, deputy chairman of the Yemeni-Russian Friendship Association Ayghl Prasbakat described the visit as important visit because it is the first visit paid by Arab leader after re-electing president Vladimir Putin for another term. In a statement to Saba, Prasbakat pointed out that talks between the two leaders would be discussing different issues. He added that the visit came in light of the latest developments in the region especially in Iraq and peace process in the Middle East. He also praised role of Yemen to realize peace in the region. It is scheduled that president Saleh’s visit would start on April 4 to hold talks with his Russian counterpart on issues of common concern. AH/NS SABA
