Al-Assad invites Saleh to 20th Arab Summit

SANA’A, Feb. 12 (Saba) – President Ali Abdullah Saleh received here on Tuesday a letter from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad inviting him to attend the 20th Arab Summit to be held on March 29 – 30 in the Syrian capital Damascus. The letter was handed over to the president during his meeting with the Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallim who arrived in Sana’a on Tuesday. The letter also dealt with a number of issues concern the two brotherly countries and mutual cooperation relations, in addition to the latest developments in the area topped by the situations in Palestine and Iraq and Lebanon. Saleh confirmed the importance of tackling the current situations in Lebanon, making reference to the active role Syria can play in collaboration with all parties to achieve Lebanon’s interests.
