Abbas’ envoy to hand over letter to President Saleh

SANA’A, June 28 (Saba)- A Palestinian official said that the Palestinian President’s advisor Nabil Amr would visit Yemen on Sunday to hand over a letter from the Palestinaian President Mahmoud Abbas to President Ali Abdullah Saleh on the latest developments in Palestine. In an interview for al-Syasiah daily, Palestinian ambassador to Yemen Khaled al-Sheikh said Amr would inform President Saleh about the current situations in the Palestinian territories. Amr was expected to arrive in Sana’a last Friday, but he delayed the visit. Al-Sheikh denied that Amr delayed his visit because of the visit of head of Hamas’s bureau in the Lebanese capital Beirut Osama Hamdan late last week as some media sources claimed. Al-Sheikh said that the visit was delayed because of President Saleh’s visits to France and Egypt. President Saleh returned to Sana’a Friday evening after talks with the two leaders Sarkozy and Mubarak on different issues in the region including the latest sorrowful crisis between the two Palestinian movements Fatah and Hamas.
